今回も前回に引き続き、「Oracle」の「Java tutorial」を読み解きながら、クラスって何？ということを英語で説明できるようになりましょう。
A class is a blueprint or prototype from which objects are created.
クラスはオブジェクトを生成するための青写真またはプロトタイプになります。
There may be thousands of other bicycles in existence, all of the same make and model.
同じ作りや型の自転車が何千とあることでしょう。
Each bicycle was built from the same set of blueprints and therefore contains the same components.
それぞれは同じ設計図から作られており、同じコンポーネントで構成されています。
In object-oriented terms, we say that your bicycle is an instance of the class of objects known as bicycles.
オブジェクト指向において、あなたの持っている自転車を、「自転車」というクラスのインスタンスと言います。
いかがでしょうか？クラスという概念を元に、実体であるオブジェクトを生成する、というのがオブジェクト指向の基本的な考えになります。自転車以外にも、現実世界のさまざまなものでオブジェクト指向を説明できますね。
